Our funeral home
A secular funeral centres on the person's life without a religious service. If you specifically want a humanist celebrant, tell us so we can check the appropriate arrangements and availability.
Shape the ceremony together
- Discuss your relative's life, what mattered to them and what should remain private.
- Agree the words, readings and order of the ceremony with the celebrant.
- Choose music and identify anyone who wishes to speak.
- Confirm the final plan and who will lead each part.
You can offer a few memories or a more detailed account. There is no requirement for family members to speak publicly. If you do wish to contribute, you can ask someone else to read your words.
Choose the venue and language
A farewell can be discussed for one of our two chapels at Fosa 19a, a cemetery venue or the graveside, subject to the arrangements at that location.
Tell us which languages the mourners use. We will check celebrant availability and discuss any readings or printed material needed before confirming the ceremony.
Choosing the ceremony style is separate from choosing burial or cremation.
Bring different wishes into the discussion
If relatives have different beliefs or expectations, explain them to the celebrant before the ceremony is written. Ask which contributions fit the type of service you have chosen.
We can also arrange the practical funeral services around the ceremony. The estimate should identify the celebrant, venue and other selected items so you can see the full cost.
